8/19 Movement Monday with Dr. Lyerly

Aug 19, 2024

Hi friends! Welcome to our inaugural edition of Movement Mondays, our weekly update email sharing the important work Kristin is doing for the people of northeast Wisconsin.

As a 6th generation Wisconsinite who was born and raised in the district, Kristin understands that there’s more that unites us than divides us. She’s a mom of four sons who is committed to building a brighter tomorrow for future generations, creating an economy that works for everyone, and ensuring that we all have the freedom to make our own personal healthcare decisions.

Here’s the “good trouble” that Dr. Lyerly and her campaign were up to to last week:

Town Hall in Algoma

Kristin held a town hall with Renee Paplham (candidate for AD1) and a couple dozen community members discussing everything from immigration to geology.

Primary Election Party @ Titletown Brewing

Kristin and her team joined over 100 supporters, several state legislative candidates, and Wisconsin music legend Pat McCurdy at Titletown Brewing for a primary night party in Green Bay. We celebrated Jane Benson’s victory in AD4 and the defeat of the referendums, and started looking forward to the exciting journey ahead!

Meet and Greet in Howard

Kristin teamed up with Kelly Peterson (candidate for SD2) and Jane Benson (candidate for AD4) in Howard to meet local leaders, discuss issues facing the community, and mobilize supporters.

Rural Leaders at Bouressa Family Farms

Kristin joined Senator Tammy Baldwin and assembly candidates Jane Benson and Emily Tseffos for a conversation with rural leaders in New London. They listened to local folks discuss the many challenges that farmers face and heard about innovative solutions that support farmers and the land we all rely on.

“Bandidates”

Kristin rocked out in her hometown of Kaukauna on Saturday night with host and organizer extraordinaire Greg Sampson (candidate for AD5) during his ‘Bandidates’ event featuring seven candidates, five bands, two venues, and a taco truck! Many thanks to The Vaudette and TAQ Brewing for hosting and everyone who came out to share a story, offer a thought, and spend the evening with us.

Tammy’s 12th Annual BBQ

Kristin and her team traveled to Stoughton to enjoy a little BBQ with Senator Tammy Baldwin and over 500 of our friends including Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski, Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez, Attorney General Josh Kaul, Secretary Pete and Chasten Buttigieg and, not surprisingly many of our neighbors from northeast Wisconsin. One thing we all eagerly agreed on – hope is in the air!

What lies ahead?

Lots of good stuff on the horizon! The Democratic National Convention, county fairs, and the first home Packer game (OK, it’s still preseason, but we’re sooooo ready to tailgate!).
